We wanted tyres that are good on bitumen while still being ok on gravel and in snow - these tyres do that. These tyres replaced Michelin Primacy and instantly the car felt better glued to the road and a nice balance of stability and responsiveness. Of course as new tyres, they felt more comfortable than old tyres. They have been comfortable on long drives. As good as any tyres we have had for our use case.

Hybrid cars are slightly heavier than normal cars and can promote slightly faster tyre wear. These are much better than OEM tyres in that regard. With 50 percent thread still left, I clocked 40000 with these, with another 20,000+ kms on them whereas the OEM Bridgestones lasted 37000. These grip so much better than the OEM - dry or wet, the braking distance has reduced and one distinctly feels it while driving the car.Noise level is another strong point with these tyres. There is noise, but much lower compared to OEM and I reckon it is difficult to find tyres that can do better. It is not to say that the tyres don't have any issues. The ride is good, however, when going over bumps, it upsets the car more than it should - is it manageable, yes. But could be better. I don't think I am going anywhere near a gravel or dirt track with these.

Replaced Pirelli Scorpion Verde, which got approx. 40,000Kms. So, make your own conclusions about our driving style. We don’t tippy-toe around the corners, but not spirited driving. Car is a Volvo XC90, so a heavy car that’s unforgiving to tyres. Fitted Geolandar CV G058 which rode better, were quieter than the Pirelli’s and probably better in the dry/wet (but this is difficult for us to test/prove). After reading about the new tread pattern, silica compound, and a treadwear rating of 740 they sounded pretty good. Reviews seemed OK, but were not long-term reviews. Only got 30,000Kms. Which is less than I got with the Pirelli’s which most consider to be a softer compound. I found the G058 got damaged easily, they chip very easily! This probably has to do with the high treadwear rating. You would think the higher rating would translate into more millage at the cost of some durability issues (chipping), but this wasn’t the case for me and my vehicle (millage). Pressure was: 42psi front, 40psi rear in summer and +2psi for both in winter, checked and adjusted monthly. I believe they were rotated twice. Remaining tread front and rear is about the same mm. We are approx. 1-2 above the min wear mark, about our cut-off point for replacement. Tyres lasted approx. 2 years, no sign of drying out, just lots rough chips. The chipping seems to be more frequent as they got below 50% wear and much more on the fronts. Wear was even across the surface area. I would say the wear across the tyre has more to do with the wheel alignment and geometry of the wheel. This is nothing new and all tyres from day one wore evenly across the surface. 99% city driving and some gravel now and then (short sections, like 5kms and low speeds). I wouldn’t get the Pirelli’s or the Geolandar CV G058 again. In my odd-ball size (255/50/R19) most brands have an offering, but not a lot of depth in tread patterns within a brand. I’m probably going to get something a bit radical this time round, a Goodride SU318, reviews seem positive, and probably the best brand coming out of China. The other tyres brands coming out of China are still poor value., well for or my size anyway. So, it’s a case of doing your research if going down this path. Others I know who tried the SU318 on similar sized cars and their feedback was positive compared to their usual well-known brands they had fitted before. To me, it’s worth a go, If I feel they aren’t working, skittish, unsafe, whatever the reason I’ll just rip them off and try something else. I doubt this would be the case as my feedback from others is specific and they know how to interpret feel on what the tyre is or isn’t doing in different conditions. Not saying this is the way to go. If I wasn’t going down this path I’d probably go Conti or Michelin. I’m usually prefer and recommend Bridgestone, but for my size I don’t really like the pattern available. I’ve never really bothered with the mid-tier brands, Goodyear, Maxis, Koreans. I’m pretty much European’s and Japanese.

Ok so I have had these Yoki G058 tyres on for about 6000km after getting just over 40000km out of the original Toyo's. I research everything I buy and the G058 were getting great reviews. Living in Tasmania I wanted lots from a tyre that I fitted including low noise, safe in the wet and safe in the dry. Now I am a fussy guy with an automotive back-ground and these tyres meet every expectation I had. They are very quiet, amazing in all weather conditions and very stable on the road due to a higher load rating than the original tyres. I bought a set of Pirellies for my other car at the same time and wish I had just purchased two sets of these Yokies. I cannot comment on wear just yet but to be honest I don't expect long tyre wear out of a tyre that does everything well. I bought these Yokies during a buy 3 get 1 free sale so they were great value, but I would be happy to pay for four of them if I needed to. You get what you pay for peoples, stick to good brands and do some research, it could save your life!

Just done 2500 ks round trip mainly raining, wow these tyres are so good. Had GO55s, still had lots of tread left on them but happy with 62k. I know new tyres are always good but these are incredible, and no road noise in the cabin. I also got 58s put on a friends XV and she can't believe it's the same car. What are Yokohama going to come up with next.

These were fitted yesterday. Before a heavy downpour of rain. Car handled beautifully. Lots of driving since. Dry weather today. Feels like I'm driving a new car. Very soft on the roads. Quiet. Great handling. Excellent stopping time. Only 30kms so far. I look forward to driving her now. Until I got these new tyres it was a chore to drive.
