Vegan tyres to save bugs
Freshly announced: Vegan tyres that are insect and animal friendly, coming soon from a major tyre manufacturer.

Do you live in fear of what poor creatures are being ground to mush beneath your tyres? While the common vehicle user most likely isn’t, Tyre Review has had a sneak preview of some new tyres targeted at Vegans, and those sensitive to mushing anything from bugs to bunnies while they drive:
Groundbreaking tyres that are guaranteed not to squish bugs and other animals while driving.
Whilst we have been sworn to secrecy and can’t yet release names, Tyre Review can confirm that a well known tyre manufacturer is soon to release a tyre in the marketplace, which is not only vegan friendly, but endorsed by a world renowned animal rights group with a name that rhymes with… schmeta.
That had us asking, how the heck do they work?!
The tyre company were cagey on the details, but let us know it was to do with the harmonics of the tyre. We’re interpreting this to mean that the tyres will transmit a noise at a pitch that bugs and animals can hear, but hopefully humans don’t. This noise should act as an early warning system so that our multiple legged friends can move safely out of the way before being pummeled into the tarmac.
These tyres are also said to be intended suitable for vegans as well.
Most tyres are created using stearic acid, which is derived from animal grade products. However, stearic acid can also be sourced from vegetable and plant based products. The tyre manufacturer who is creating these new bug-proof tyres also informed us that they’ll be sourcing their stearic acid from sustainable coconut plantations.
Tyre Review will be putting these tyres to the test very soon, so let us know what you would like to hear and see about these tyres. Do they really work? Do they spread animal happiness or terror as they fly down roads at high speeds? Will the sound they produce put your teeth on edge like fingernails on a blackboard?
One thing we can probably all agree on right now, is that these vegan friendly, bug saving tyres sound insane, right? Well….yes, they are...consider this an April Fools from the team here at Tyre Review! But, if this article has piqued your interest, let us know, as we’re keen to bring you more (genuine) information regarding vegan tyres in the not too distant future.
The only thing we know for sure now is... critters are still under threat from our rubber sheathed behemoths.
